Planning a Day Trip to Niagara Falls, NY
Getting There
-
From Youngstown, take the free Discover Niagara Shuttle to Niagara Falls State Park. It runs about every 40 minutes from Old Fort Niagara, with multiple pickup and drop-off stops.
-
If you’re driving, park at Goat Island Lot 2 — it’s closest to the Cave of the Winds and an easy walk to other viewpoints.
What To Bring
-
Comfortable shoes that can get wet—Ideally sandals that strap to your feet, and dry quickly. Flip flops are not recommended. You’ll likely walk several miles throughout the park, so sneakers that stay wet aren't the best idea.
-
Keep a dry change of clothes, walking shoes, and a small towel for after Maid of the Mist or Cave of the Winds in the car or in a dry bag! This will make your day more enjoyable.
-
Snack
-
Water, sunscreen, and a packed picnic lunch if you plan to relax in the park.
